I Need some help wiring the alternator in my 1967 Mustang. I'm new to this site.
I have a standard alternaror for a 1967, v-8 2 barrel my mustang only has starter relay. No Voltage regulator.
The wiring somone before me color coded the wiring different than the diagrams providedin chiltons.
THe wires are as follows
1. Two wire in one with large terminal connector at the end connecting them both together.
2. White wire
3. Black wire and its thicker guage than the other wires
4. The battery cable form the negative battery post.
I live in the sticks so theres not much help out here.
Anyone ?

| Man, I wish I could help you. The best thing that I could do for you is to take a couple of pictures of mine. But, that would probably look just like the one in the diagram. I'm not good at wiring. :( |

Sixty7Mustang22,
That would be the answer to my prayers, pictures are better than diagrams. If you could snap a picture of your starter relay, then one of the alternator with the wires hooked up on both it would be great.
Your an angel, thanks for taking your time to help me.
Are you able to post the pictures on here or do you need my personal email ? Which is nippersyard1@aol.com

Alright. I will take a picture of mine. I'll try to get a bunch of angles.
I'll post it on here and send it to your e-mail.
It will be tomorrow morning that I get them posted though. I have school all day and no internet at the house currently.
I hope they help. |

Dude. I hated when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. It made life miserable for a couple of weeks. :x
Anyway, here are the pictures of the wireing. If you need to know where a certain wire goes or comes from, throw an arrow on a picture and I will trace it for you.
The two wires coming from the back of the alternator above ^^^^, go to the clip that you see in the middle of the picture that you see below.
The wires coming from that clip spread out into a few different places.
I hope these help. |
