Ok. So, I recently realized that since I just got married and building the new house and all, I’m not going to have enough money for a supercharger at the moment. However, I did decide though that I want to run a small shot of nitrous to make up the difference when I need it.
However, I am pretty clueless when it comes to nitrous. So, I have some questions for you guys.
First off, I am running a Holley 4-Barrel Carb on my 302 which has been modified with 351 heads, cam, high volume oil pump and roller rockers.
I found these three that are in my price range:
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&catalogIdentifier=&categoryId=14689&parentCategoryId=10321 (With this kit, I know it will fit my holley 4-barrel. However, It doesn’t adjust. It only has a 125hp shot.)
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&catalogIdentifier=&categoryId=18065&parentCategoryId=10321 (Performer Nitrous System. I don’t know about this kit. Which performer kit do I get to fit my holley carb? Standard flange? I do like that it adjusts 50hp, 75hp, and 100hp shots though.)
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&catalogIdentifier=&categoryId=21297&parentCategoryId=10321 (Once again, I know this kit will work with my holley. Plus, it adjusts. The only thing about this kit though, it is a little pricey and I wont be able to use the larger shots)
Which system would you suggest getting of the three? Any more that you know of that would work in my situation.
When I add the nitrous system, what all do I have to upgrade? Fuel pump? Do I have to run cooler plugs? If so, how cold?
School me on nitrous guys. |

| NOS rate theri power at the FW, never heard anythign good about the Edelbrock, and NX rate their poewer at the wheels. 100 shiot is about as much as you safly want to go aon a stock short block. Go 2 steps colder onthe plugs, are you going with a wet or dry shot? What fuel pump are you using? If its a stock one or a mechanical get a electric on just fo the no2. Yo also need a WOT switch and a Window switch and a fuel pressure cut off switch. your looking at $1000 total including te no2 kit. I wuold go nitrous Express, i have one sittign waiting to be installed. |

Is that 100 shot at the FW or a 100 shot at the wheels?
Well, I don't know what a carb spacer injection kit is considered. Dry or wet?
It is a stock mechanical fuel pump. Do I have to get a elecric one? How exactly would that work on a carbed motor with a mechanical and electrical fuel pump?
Why a window switch?
I understand the fuel cut off switch, but do I absolutely need wot switch on such an old car? I would only hit the button when I cam wot.
I thought these kits were plug and play. I guess they aren't if you want to be safe. |

| they are definatly not plug and play. You need a wot switch cuz you will blow your engine hitting the button manually. You can handle 100 to the wheels. I think all carb spacer kits are wet, jut ditch the mechanical pump and go to a Holley Blue or Black, more than enought to handle a stock engine and nitrous. |
